The 2025 Benefits Plan is the outcome of the season of rebuilding initiative launched in 2023. The changes enable more congregations to support their pastoral leadership through the Benefits Plan.

Imagining Beyond Our Limits was the theme of the 2023 Polity, Benefits, and Mission Conference, and the Reverend Dr. Frank Clark Spencer, Board President, shared in envisioning new pathways for the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).  

The Board of Pensions has met with over 200 mid council, congregational, and pastoral leaders on the season of rebuilding initiative. This report is intended to update the wider denomination on this important effort, taken in collaboration with the Church, to assess and redesign the Benefits Plan to better meet the needs of local congregations.

More than 110 mid council and presbytery leaders gathered with a team from The Board of Pensions of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) in Denver May 2-3, 2023, to share ideas on how to ensure that all pastoral leadership, regardless of installation status, have access to the Church’s Benefits Plan. The event was part of the season of rebuilding, a Board of Pensions initiative to find solutions that best serve the needs of the changing Church.

The Board of Pensions of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) announced a Benefits Plan redesign initiative focused on flexibility, choice, and cost control. During this season of rebuilding, the Board will collaborate with the Church over the next two years to explore solutions that better address the needs of local congregations.
